I’m Alison, the face behind the hands dumping things into pots in my videos. I started this blog at a time when I was struggling to find joy in my life. I’ve always loved food, cooking, and feeding people, so I decided to go back to basics and cook my way to happiness.
I went to culinary school and have a degree in culinary arts and food science. I worked in food product development for years before making the decision to go back to school to become a registered dietitian. I’m currently completing my dietetic internship and a master’s in nutrition and food systems. Really, I just love food and I want everyone to share that same love.
I believe in eating real food, but I also believe in flexibility, because food should be fun. There are enough things to be stressed about, food shouldn’t be one of them! Cooking should be fun and simple, food should be nourishing and unpretentious.
So join me in rediscovering joyfulness and fun and connection with food. Maybe my recipes will help you find something you’re missing. Or maybe you’ll just spend a night around the table with your closest friends. Either way you win.
